Electronics Technician

The Company: At Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Virginia (YTMV) we manufacture ultra-high performance, high performance, and touring passenger tires as well as light truck tires. The Role: We are seeking a full-time Electronics Technician to join our dynamic team. This person is responsible for providing support to the Maintenance Department by troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of factory PLC and PC based systems. The Electronics Technician also supports the Engineering Department by involvement in various phases of electrical control projects such as: design, estimation, quotation, budgeting, contracting, scheduling, installation, and start-up. Other duties include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare shift end reports.
  • Investigate machinery wiring, components, and drawings.
  • Perform thermographic surveys of equipment.
  • Schedule project work and electrical preventative maintenance.
  • Analyze data, develop design & operational changes, and perform root cause analysis.


  • Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or 5 years related electrical experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of control circuits, programmable controllers, variable speed drives (AC & DC), and National Electric Code.
  • Familiarity with DVM, oscilloscope, PLC software, and other test equipment.
  • Familiarity with ladder logic and electrical drawings.
  • Job requires shift work which includes nights and weekends.
