Job Description

The Administrative and Office Specialist will provide various fiscal, office, and administrative support at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). This position will assist in VTTI’s Service Centers monthly billing, create and utilize a variety of excel spreadsheets, perform data entry, enter purchase requisitions into Hokiemart, assist in completing/processing various human resource forms/entries, conduct reconciliation tasks, assist in the tracking of loaner vehicles and equipment, generate various reports from the VT database system (MicroStrategy), serve as backup in covering Front Desk area, assist in setting up for VTTI events when needed, filing, along with other administrative duties. This position will report to the VTTI Finance Operations Manager.

Required Qualifications

- Previous experience providing financial and administrative support in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated problem solving, leadership, and independent initiative.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

- A.S. or B.S. in accounting, business administration or related level of course work.
- Experience working with Banner, Microstrategy, and Hokiemart
- Experience with VT Service Center Billing and A/R
- Familiarity with VT policies and procedures
- Experience in a University setting.
