Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
The candidate will assist and oversee daily vehicle maintenance operations for a sizeable research fleet. Will assist in fabrication, equipment installation, testing tasks, and management of subordinates.
Receives general direction from Mechanical Director. Collaborates with team members, Researchers, and sponsors as required.
The Equipment Service and Repair Manager will be responsible for ensuring completion of all work in accordance with established guidelines, best practice, and goals.
Manager will coordinate, plan, and document: Repairs and maintenance of research vehicles, equipment, and other related items.
Role will be responsible for oversight and coordination of work and schedules for vehicle technicians and other direct reports. Provides guidance and technical support for the vehicle maintenance group.
Serves as liaison between researchers and vehicle maintenance operations, researcher, and hardware group.
Operates VTTI’s weather-making system as needed.
Motivated to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Candidate will assist with other tasks as directed.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Familiarity with safe practice and procedures.
Required Qualifications
-Demonstrated experience following specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety and environmental practices.
-Demonstrated experience multi-tasking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
-Demonstrated management experience
-Demonstrated experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
-Demonstrated experience in electrical diagnosis and repair.
-Experience with diagnostic tools for mechanical and electrical needs.
-Experience in operating heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
-Demonstrated computer proficiency required in office applications, such as Microsoft office.
Preferred Qualifications
-Demonstrated welding experience.
-Demonstrated machining experience.
-Electrical experience or licensure.
-Mechanical modification and design experience.
-Commercial driver’s license
-Industrial equipment certification
