As our Senior Change Management Consultant, you will play a key role in advancing Virginia Tech’s mission and bold vision. The university has a number of transformational initiatives underway and our change managers will ensure cultural change initiatives for new business processes, systems, technologies, job roles and organizational structures are successful. The change manager will be focused on the people side of change, by working to reduce employee resistance to change and increase the speed of adoption of new behaviors needed for change initiatives to be successful. The change manager will deliver best in class change management practices that are integrated with business plans in a systematic and rigorous way. The change manager is the owner of the change management deliverables, including communication plans, impact assessment, risk mitigation, and success metrics. This position reports to the Vice President for Business Affairs.
Educational background in Industrial Org Psychology, Organizational Development or Organizational Change, or related field
Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change management initiatives or consulting with track record of success
Qualification / Certification in Change Management
Working knowledge and understanding of key change management models and frameworks (i.e. Lewin's, Kotter's 8 Step, ADKAR, etc.)
Strong business sense and ability to align change management process to business needs
Ability to influence leadership and develop employee support and engagement
Skilled at taking a consultative and collaborative approach to problem solving
Excellent facilitation and communication skills
Strong project management and analytical skills
Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
Highly developed influencer and negotiator
Strong analytical, interpretive and decision-making capabilities
Ability to convey complex technical concepts in user-friendly language
