Senior Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
This position will perform a variety of functions including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pest control, carpet cleaning, and carpentry tasks. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team with the focus on providing excellent customer service. Some overtime required and responds to after hours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations. Must be willing to work weekend shift occasionally or on a rotating shift.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience with general maintenance of commercial or institutional buildings. Previous experience with general maintenance in the areas of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, pest control, carpet cleaning, and Carpentry; including but not limited to diagnosing, repairing and/or replacing. Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance methods including materials, tools, procedures and safety practices. Previous experience working with / understanding blueprints and specifications. Previous experience processing complete, accurate work order reports / documentation. Previous experience with computers and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Some overtime required and responds to afterhours service calls when scheduled or in emergency situations. Must be willing to work weekend shift occasionally or on a rotating shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Journey/master's certification in a trade related occupation or General Contractor license preferred. Previous experience with hokie serv or similar electronic maintenance program.
