Senior Fiscal Technician
Job Description
Reporting to the Business Services Supervisor, the Senior Fiscal Technician provides financial services and administrative support for the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics. This position will primarily perform monthly reconciliations for all BEAM departmental, research, and foundation funds. This position will also prepare journal entries, prepare and process labor redistributions, reconcile and resolve outstanding encumbrance issues involving accounts payables and travel. This position may also process orders in Hokiemart, prepare and make CASHNET deposits, serve as departmental records administrator, serve as liaison with NI&S, and provide general administrative assistant as needed throughout the department.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must have prior experience:
-Providing financial and administrative support involving fiscal duties, reconciliations, payroll, and/or AP/AR.
-Working with large enterprise database systems involving financial information.
-Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
-Effectively compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting financial data to resolve financial issues
-Prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple responsibilities.
-Communicating diplomatically and professionally verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in business management or accounting.
-Experience using Banner, MicroStrategy, CASHnet, TEM system, and Hokiemart.
-Knowledge of state and university financial policies and procedures and the operations of an academic research environment.
-Work experience in a higher education or professional environment.
-Familiarity with the procedures of proper cash handling.
-Working with culturally diverse groups and on interdisciplinary teams.
