Job Description
Conduct applied research on housing affordability and housing programs for state and local governments, conduct literature review to support housing affordability research and local and state housing initiatives, assist in research, project development and management, assist in the identification and development of opportunities to contribute to academic and trade literature, assist in website development and maintenance, systematize data entry protocols for databases, assist in basic administrative tasks.
Job Duties:
The primary duty of this position is assisting VCHR faculty in research and projects related to housing affordability in Virginia. A secondary duty is technology support for databases, website, and online training and coursework. Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Compile data for current research projects (i.e. the Loudoun County Consolidated Plan) and assist in data analysis and reporting; assist in the public engagement process including data presentation, focus group facilitation, and not taking.
- Review the process of compiling, entering and checking the Housing Affordability Sourcebook database, assist faculty in streamlining this process and automating it to a practical extent.
- Assist in website maintenance and development of pages for upcoming Housing Camp efforts.
Assist in administrative tasks, particularly those related to proposal submission, academic and trade literature submission, regular sponsored project reporting and the coordination of the upcoming Housing Camp.
Required Qualifications
Background in computer science or other related field that allows the candidate to advance VCHR needs for database and website improvements. Experience and comfort working with data. Demonstrated interest in housing programs, policies and data topics.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in related field to ensure ability to improve systematic data compilation and entry as well as website support and maintenance.
Skills with data organization and analysis.
Experience in writing and editing technical papers.
Experience in collaborative teams.
Salary Information
Commensurate with experience.
