Research and Graduate Studies Program Manager
Job Description
The Research and Graduate Studies Program Manager position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Engineering (COE) Dean's Office. Duties will focus on ensuring that the COE graduate programs operate at optimum efficiency, performs data management and analysis, provides special project support, scheduling and coordinating of graduate events, serves as liaison to the COE graduate program directors and coordinators, provides graduate studies and student administrative support.
Specific Duties:
-Graduate curriculum management
-Assist with Graduate Program reviews
-Scheduling, organizing and running graduate student events
-Grad student awards management
-Scheduling of grad program directors and departmental coordinator meetings and trainings
-Managing of RGS graduate student team
-Assisting with new graduate program/certificate development
-Maintain optimal communicating with Graduate School
-Data collection and analysis for graduate program
Required Qualifications
-Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook;
-experience with database management systems, demonstrated ability to compile and verify data;
-demonstrated ability to effectively liaise and interact with university personnel, public and private executives, and other professionals;
-ability to represent the Dean's Office and the College with professionalism;
-ability to lead and execute the special events in coordination with faculty and graduate students (e.g. Torgersen Awards).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Virginia Tech dashboard, Canvas, Slate, Zoom, and HokieMart.
