Quality Control AssistantVirginia Tech
The position reports to the Quality Control Manager and serves as the Quality Control Assistant for the Facilities Department's Housekeeping and Grounds unit. The Quality Control Assistant performs a wide variety of duties to assist the Facilities Operations Team and has extensive interaction with promoting and overseeing compliance of operational quality for Housekeeping, Grounds, and contractual services to include all Buildings and Grounds designated Facilities responsible areas, Real Estate and Lease properties, and Auxiliary approved units. The position will provide site reviews (inspections) for contractual, in-house, and grounds operations. In addition, this position will provide logistical and administrative support for the Floor Care Teams as well as being a main point of contract for that unit.
The position is also responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager with oversight of corrective action plans. This position will be a line of contact with contractual services and will frequently navigate areas where contractual services are being performed to inspect and discuss needs and expectations. This position will provide support and serve as a resource to the Quality Control Manger and assist with the administrative functions.
The ideal candidate must be detail, action, solution, and results oriented, as well as dedicated to continuous improvement. The successful candidate must have the ability to handle multiple activities including confidential and sensitive matters with the utmost discretion. The individual is expected to fulfill identified responsibilities with limited supervision while maintaining effective communication with the Quality Control Manager and Associate Director of Buildings and Grounds and other Facilities Department leaders.
Associates degree in Business or related field, or a combination of relevant training and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience with quality assessments and continuous improvement.
Ability to partner with team to create strategic processes and procedures.
Experience overseeing implementation of corrective action plans.
Demonstrated experience performing site reviews and assessments.
Experience with routine computer functions and software.
Attention to detail and quality driven.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Experience in a large commercial or educational settings.
Experience in housekeeping, grounds or facilities related field.
