Program Support Technician
This position will provide administrative support for the Department of Chemical Engineering in coordinating and completing human resources/payroll requests and transactions along with undergraduate support. In this role, the specialist is responsible for organization and maintenance of all personnel records, hiring wage positions, recruitment for salaried positions (staff, faculty, postdocs, and graduate students) and will serve as the departmental leave representative. Additionally, this position will provide undergraduate academic support to the department. The successfully selected candidate will have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a highly professional manner with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students. It is essential to the job to possess the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service orientation, and ability to excel in a team environment.
Demonstrated administrative support and project coordination skills; strong fiscal support/bookkeeping experience, especially in payroll; experience with database management systems such as accounting and/or personnel/payroll systems; experience working with academic programs; working knowledge of software applications such as MS Word and MS Excel; excellent organizational skills; strong communication skills and effectiveness in working with a diverse clientele; and the desire and demonstrated ability to provide excellent support.
Degree or certificate in accounting, business administration or related field of study or equivalent experience. Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to personnel, payroll and student support; experience with Banner HRIS systems; TimeClock Plus; PageUp; working knowledge of the operations of higher education academic office operations.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccination.
