Program Support Tech
The Industrial and Systems Engineering Department (ISE) in the College of Engineering is seeking a Program Support Technician. This position will work independently to provide administrative support to ISE. The essential duties include assisting visitors, both in person and by phone, interacting effectively with a wide range of individuals to include current and prospective students, parents, faculty and other ISE and university employees, assisting with ISE event planning, as needed, for departmental functions including, but not limited to, the ISE Advisory Board meetings and the Distinguished Alumni Banquet, responsible for timely opening and closing of office facilities, maintaining professional appearance and organization of main office facilities to include break room and copy room. This position is also responsible for maintaining office and lab assignments and serves as the key coordinator for the department.
Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in a professional setting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adaptable to various and competing demands. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel, (ability to edit and proofreading).
Prior experience working in higher education. Familiarity with Virginia Tech systems, such as Banner, Hokie Mart, Leave system and Chrome River.
The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
