Pharmacy Assistant A
Job Description
To assist the pharmacist in the daily operation of the hospital pharmacy by preparing, delivering and charging medications ordered by clinicians. Performance of various technical and clerical duties to ensure accurate professional and lawful execution of standards established by the State Board of Pharmacy for clinical and hospital operations. Students encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
Previous work experience in veterinary health care and/or previous technical pharmacy experience; Experience in data entry; Knowledge of medical terminology; Proficient computer and math skills; Knowledge of veterinary pharmaceuticals; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to organize work by tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (or eligible) preferred; Courses in animal science or biology at college level desirable.
