Patient Care Technician (LVT)
Job Description
Patient Care Technician will provide technical support to the clinical faculty at the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center in Roanoke, Virginia. Performs critical care nursing procedures for oncology and post operative patients. The College is currently hiring for 2 positions. Positions are for 2nd and 3rd shift, Hours may vary.
Required Qualifications
Licensed or license eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT): working knowledge of advanced and basic nursing skills; knowledge of CPR; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs; Rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer); Minimum 2 years experience in a veterinary hospital as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years experience in advanced critical care nursing in a veterinary medical setting. RECOVER certification. Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency and Critical Care or Small Animal Internal Medicine. Fear Free Certification.
