Office Support/4H Prog. Assist
Job Description
Work with the Halifax County Extension staff, Halifax County public schools, and community partners in the delivery of quality 4H educational programs while supporting the overall operation of the Extension Office.
Required Qualifications
Experience interacting effectively with youth and adults both orally and in writing; must be well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to recruit, motivate and engage youth and adults. Must be willing to work as a team member with VCE faculty and staff, especially the 4H Agent, as well as local stakeholders and partnering agencies. Familiarity and working experience with computers including Windows and Microsoft Word. Must have access to reliable transportation to and from various worksites.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given for knowledge and background in teaching, working with volunteers, and/or experience in 4H with a demonstrated ability to be in a supportive and empowering role with others. Experience working with youth and adults of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers. Ability to identify needs and plan, implement, and evaluate program impacts. Ability to fundraise and market programs.
