Office Assistant - Mailroom
Job Description
Office Assistant provides administrative support and serves as backup support to the staff and projects related to the Mail Operations Unit within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Responsibilities include data processing, mail support, assisting with email correspondence, and recruitment mailings. Provides customer service support to front office staff by answering phones and serving as a resource for prospective students and families.
Required Qualifications
Administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment.| Strong customer service and communication skills.| Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in a multitasking environment.| Must be able to work under stressful conditions during times of high volume processing and phone calls. | Must be dependable, approachable, and comfortable dealing with diverse clientele.| Should exhibit initiative, learn from experiences and present a professional image and positive work ethic and attitude.| Willingness to learn and abide by U.S. Postal Service rules and regulations is essential.| Must be able to safely move and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and proficiency with the Banner student system or other professional office software systems.| Experience responding to email correspondence in a professional business setting.
