Master PlumberVirginia Tech
Performs repairs to equipment and facilities for the Planning and Operations Department for DSA in accordance with established procedures in order to maintain a safe and clean facility that is in good repair. Serves as departmental lead maintenance staff in area of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. Assist Manager with planning/implementing preventive maintenance program for buildings, and equipment, including pumps. Assist Manager with supervision of Projects or Special tasks. Performs work of master difficulty with responsibility for independently installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and heating systems, including hot water and steam heating systems. Responds to after hours service calls when scheduled. Some overtime may be required. This is a senior level position that performs more sophisticated electrical and plumbing work across the entire Planning and Operations order to maintain a safe a clean facility that is in good repair. Any plumbing work that deals with steam or natural gas will be referred to a Plumber with either a Journeyman or Master Certification. Any electrical work that has high voltage or energized circuits will be referred to an Electrician with either a Journeyman or Master certification.
Master Plumbing certification and additional trades journeyman's license required. Previous experience with maintenance methods, maintenance materials, tools and procedures, and maintenance safety practices. Demonstrated experience in HVAC, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and general maintenance. Previous experience with computers. Previous experience interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings. Previous experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing water and steam systems. ||Some overtime required and responds to after hour service calls in a team or in emergency situations.
Commensurate with experience, with a range of $45,500 to $51,000.
