Library AssistantVirginia Tech
Perform public assistance functions of the NVC Resource Center/Library, including general reference, circulation, and reserve. Participate in planning and operations of branch library services. Assist the public with the use of resources available at the NVC Resource Center (Falls Church) and through the University Libraries system.
Library work experience
Basic research assistance experience including knowledge of bibliographic databases and reference tools
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism with customer service and sensitivity to working in a multicultural setting
Experience working as part of a team while also being able, as needed, to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness and ability to work a varied work schedule that includes nights and weekends
Excellent communication skills
Experience scheduling and coordinating events, meetings, and/or use of spaces
Experience providing technology consultation services in an academic setting
Familiarity with Koha or other Integrated Library Systems
Experience with 3D printing or designing for 3D printing
Experience designing public displays or presentations
Experience with instruction/teaching or training
Experience working in higher education
Knowledge of citation managers
