Lead Content Coordinator
Job Description
The Cyber Range is seeking a full-time Lead Content Coordinator to coordinate the development of cybersecurity courseware and other content for the Virginia Cyber Range and the U.S. Cyber Range Courseware Repository. The position will require oversight and management of a grant program designed to encourage authors (currently limited to Virginia public educators) to develop course offerings for cybersecurity educators throughout the US.
The successful candidate will assist instructors in the design, development and implementation of course lesson plans, presentation slides, homework plans, projects, and exercises. The Coordinator will work closely with Virginia public authors providing range content to convert courseware for use in the range and ensure that all content meets specified formats.
The Coordinator will work closely with the Range's Executive Committee consisting of stakeholders from educational institutions across the state to evaluate course content submissions to ensure high-quality cybersecurity course materials and technical compatibility within the range environment. The Coordinator will seek input from technical personnel to ensure hands-on exercises are created in the cyber range exercise area to correspond with submitted courseware and is properly organized, tagged, and posted to the cyber range repository.
Located in Blacksburg, VA, the Cyber Range is a Commonwealth of Virginia initiative led by a consortium of Virginia public institutions of higher education with Virginia Tech serving as the coordinating institution. The mission of the Cyber Range is to enhance cybersecurity education for students in the Commonwealth and boost Virginia's cybersecurity industry through strategic educational investments.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university or equivalent training and work experience
- Knowledge of instructional design concepts including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation in an eLearning environment
- Experience in assessing training course materials against organizational guidelines and instructional design best practices
- Familiarity with cybersecurity areas of study including high level IT security concepts, incident handling, penetration testing, digital forensics, computer networking, secure coding, and software reverse engineering
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing undergraduate course curriculum in a STEM discipline, preferably computer science or computer engineering
- Demonstrated ability in assessment, project management, course development, and evaluation
- Significant training or experience in instructional design and/or online teaching in a higher education setting, preferably in the areas of computer networking or cybersecurity
- Understanding of computer networking, including the TCP/IP protocol stack, and basic services like DNS, Web, Email, and others
- Relevant professional certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, CISA
