Lab/Field Research Technician-
Job Description
Duties involve conducting laboratory and field experiments; maintaining and performing repairs on a variety of laboratory and field research equipment; providing technical assistance to students and researchers; ; install research hardware components and assemblies; using machining tools and fabricating techniques for metal, plastic, and wood. Duties include Performing detailed reviews of engineering related projects; and ensuring design elements, safety protocols, and laboratory guidelines meet federal, state and agency requirements.
Must be responsible, dependable. Punctual attendance is important.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in the use and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment: this includes use of testing devices and the safe use of laboratory/shop area procedures the ability of performing maintenance and repair on various laboratory equipment. |Demonstrated skill in the use of electronic and electrical testing devices and the safe use of shop and hand tools for metal, wood and plastic working.| Demonstrated computer proficiency required in office applications, such as Microsoft Office and internet search engines.
Demonstrated knowledge of lab, safety procedures, and research policies, procedures and protocols.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, with close attention to detail.
Must be aged 18 or older.
Preferred Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
