ICTAS II Facilities Assistant
Job Description
The Facilities Assistant will be primarily responsible for ensuring the effective daily operation of ICTAS II and will be the principal contact for building occupants in regards to general building-related issues. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for occupant facilities requests and questions; schedule and maintain building conference rooms; receive deliveries; and sort mail. This position will be part of facilities team and may be called upon to assist other Facilities personnel with administrative, security-related, procurement-related and physical task duties. Supplemental duties will relate to administrative and facilities-related support for the Drone Park, including ordering and receiving supplies, drafting official documentation and records such as flight logs, assisting with contracted projects and facilities upkeep, and being present at the Drone Park as needed. Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with general-purpose office utility software such as Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint. Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work independently. Knowledge and well-rounded experience involving the timely provision of flexible support services. Physical capacity for sustained walking, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs). Post-secondary education, with appropriate business, technical and/or vocational training certificate, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Virginia Tech. Experience in facilities operation and support. Bachelor’s degree.
Pay Band
Staff Wage 1500 Hour
Salary Information
Commensurate with experience
