GAAP/IGSS Advisor
Job Description
Provide program support for the Graduate School for graduate applications, academic progress, and immigration services. Responsibilities include advising prospective and current graduate students; serving as a liaison with academic units; interpreting and applying Graduate School and university policies and immigration regulations; working with confidential student information; and providing general office support through telephone, email and in person consultations.
Required Qualifications
Work experience providing academic advising to students. Work experience in an administrative office. Work experience with computer software packages and applications. Work experience with a relational database such as Banner. Work experience interpreting and communicating policies. Willingness to learn immigration policy and procedures and be certified in DHS and DoS as a Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer. Earned bachelor's degree. Good communication skills. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement and make informed decisions in complex situations.
