Fiscal TechnicianVirginia Tech
This position provides fiscal support for the faculty in the Department of Agricultural, Leadership and Community Education. Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Conduct daily transactions and financial account transactions while utilizing University resources and policies
•Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis, resolve discrepancies, process payments, prepare travel reimbursement, and obtain job quotes
•Provide financial accounting and analysis and provide financial reports, administer payroll, and prepare department budget forecasts
•Coordinate reimbursement and non-contract payments in addition to purchasing necessary orders and monitor balances
•Perform general office and fiscal responsibilities to support the department head and faculty
•Customer service experience working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
•Experience using accounting software, large enterprise databases in areas of finance and purchasing
•Basic bookkeeping, reconciliation and accounting knowledge
•Experience in budget forecasting, technical writing, & accounts receivable
•Experience using Microsoft Suite demonstrating proficiency with Word and Excel
•Administrative experience, multitasking ability, and proficiency in office administration
•Excellent time management and communication skills
•Willingness to learn quickly and provide exceptional customer service while working in a collaborative environment
•Experience with Banner or an equivalent financial record-keeping system; PCard purchasing procedures; HokieMart; Microstrategy; Depart; DestinyOne or equivalent systems
