Fiscal TechnicianVirginia Tech
This position provides responsibilities in the Animal and Poultry Sciences Department for:
Preparing purchase orders in the HokieMart system following Virginia Tech Procurement policies and procedures; Performing the daily receiving functions in HokieMart; Reconciling Purchasing Cards monthly in a timely manner; Researching problems and working with vendors to resolve problems; Receiving and depositing sales of livestock, meat center retail sales, and other revenues according to University funds handling procedures; Reconciling various funds monthly; Preparing journal entries, reimbursements, interdepartmental service requests, and travel; Communicating with faculty and other departments to resolve problems; Performing all duties associated with hiring wage employees.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting in a professional environment; Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills; Experience working with a diverse group of people; Ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting; Experience with HokieMart, Banner, Time Clock Plus, Cash Net, COLA, or Travel Expense Management (TEM) System; Knowledge of University, State, and Virginia Tech Foundation fiscal policies and procedures; Knowledge of University funds handling procedures.
