The department of Mining and Minerals Engineering (MME) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fiscal and Operations Coordinator. The incumbent will work directly with MME faculty, staff, and students to facilitate our research, teaching, and service missions.
Fiscal functions include commercial invoicing, serving as departmental point of contact for travel requests and reimbursements, purchasing and receiving, processing VT Foundation transactions, and processing payroll funding changes and labor redistributions.
Serving as the Operations Coordinator, this role is directly responsible for daily operations, facilities, and physical operations of the department, International Support Services compliance, Personnel Activity Report (PARs) compliance, and event planning. This position regularly and effectively communicates with faculty, staff, students, and other university entities on behalf of the department and assists with the compilation and editing of materials related to Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) reporting. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with training requirements and maintenance of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related training and/or experience.
- Experience providing program and/or administrative support in an academic or professional office environment.
- Proficiency in working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite.
- Experience in fiscal support and record management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
- Ability to interact comfortably with individuals in a diverse multicultural environment.
