Enrollment Coordinator
Job Description
The Enrollment Coordinator serves as a professional customer service representative for the Continuing & Professional Education team. This position provides high quality services to a diverse clientele in person, over the phone, and via email, complying with funds handling guidelines while providing registration services for nearly 350 programs and 26,000+ participants per year. This unit is often the first point of contact for participants of university-sponsored programs coming to campus or participating regionally or across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Maintaining a detailed knowledge of programs is vital to effectively answer questions and cross-promote programs while speaking with participants. This position requires keen attention to detail, exceptional customer service, full compliance with internal processes, and excellent record-keeping/documentation skills. Program reconciliation and auditing is also a key responsibility.
Occasional travel may be required to provide onsite local and out of town registrations. Occasional weekend, early morning and late evening work may be required based upon program schedules. Due to the nature of this position, the enrollment coordinator will be required to push, pull, and safely move and handle items (program materials) up to 50 pounds or more.
Required Qualifications
•Customer service experience in a high-volume environment
•Cash handling experience, such as balancing receipts, preparing daily deposits or auditing records
•Demonstrated proficiency with current Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong keyboarding skills
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to resolve problems and make independent decisions
•Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
•Must be able to effectively and efficiently prioritize tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines
•Ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy
•Courteous and professional communication skills are necessary to work with a diverse domestic and international clientele
•Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledge of university policies and experience
•Experience working with Banner or similar relational database
•Training or related experience in accounting and auditing
•Experience working with registration/enrollment for conferences/events
