Collections Processing Asst
Job Description
Assist with the Bound Thesis and Dissertations (BTD) Project in all aspects of digitization; image and text treatment and processing; and preparation of titles for ingest into VTechWorks, the Universities institutional repository. Assist with the daily processing of physical collections items as they are made shelf ready and released into their collections.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a Windows-based computer environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro (especially Photoshop), and Google Suite.
- Experience scanning documents and images on a variety of scanners and performing text and image treatment to achieve very good quality scans.
- Experience prioritizing tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
- Experience analyzing discrepancies, investigating, and following problems to their resolution by gathering data from several sources and evaluating it.
- Experience interpreting and applying complex policies, procedures, and practices.
- Experience working in a team environment to reach common goals and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience executing command-line scripts in Windows or Mac OSX.
- Experience working with or modifying records in an integrated library system.
- Previous library experience in the technical services or physical processing areas.
- Experience with quality control.
- Previous work with large scale projects.
- Familiarity with digital preservation standards.
- Supervisory experience.

Pay band 3, Library Specialist I
Salary Information
$13.00 - $14.75/hr

Additional Information
Work schedule of: 30-36 hours to be worked between the hours of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Must be able to work during school holidays and breaks.
Must be able to safely push/pull loaded book trucks weighing up to 75 lbs.
The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check
