Job Description

Oversees the daily production of all products within Deet’s Place; including coffee and tea products. Coaching and guiding all staff to adhere to the designated expectations set forth for Deet's Place. Ensures all policies and procedures are being followed. Provides excellent customer service and product sales information in a high-volume coffee house atmosphere. Strong leadership skills. Strong coffee roasting skills. Ability to use and knowledge of equipment related to coffee production. Ability to create handcrafted, coffee based drinks. Knowledge and understanding of barista art. Knowledge and ability to handle a diverse group of staff members. Experience with handling guest relations. Knowledge of proper funds handling policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Experience working in a high-volume coffee house atmosphere. Experience coffee roasting
and barista experience. Knowledge of sanitation set forth by the Virginia Health Department. Knowledge and use of general and/or commercial kitchen equipment; including gas powered coffee roaster, stoves, grills, warmers, knives, steam tables, refrigerators, and espresso machine. ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Ability to supervise and handle multiple interruptions from subordinates and customers. Ability to coach and train new and current staff members on how to create handcrafted specialty drinks.

Preferred Qualifications

Barista Certifications/Coffee Roasting Certifications or equivalent experience. Tea Certifications
or equivalent experience. HACCP Certification
