Job Description

This position will be lead academic event support technician. This position will be responsible for support of University Administration, Academic College and Departmental special events occurring in the centrally scheduled classrooms. This position is for the Classroom AV evening shift; nominally 1PM to 10PM Monday through Thursday, 9AM to 6PM Fridays. Weekends as scheduled with time and a half time off compensation for overtime work.
This position will be supported by Classroom AV technical personnel in order to assist clients in the operation of the installed instructional classroom equipment. This position will also provide support for the upkeep and operation of the installed AV systems in the centrally scheduled classrooms. This position will provide in-classroom support for instructional faculty.
This position will be responsible for supervision of student or part-time employees as assigned to the evening shift.

Provides technical support for general assignment classrooms and facilities. Provides support and instruction on all installed and portable classroom instructional technologies. Will work with instructional faculty to integrate software applications used in classroom instruction. Will help provide consultation with faculty and staff on instructional needs. Will diagnose, calibrate, repair, install modify, and inspect computer controlled and programmable computer, electronic, and/or audiovisual equipment at the component level. Maintains, operates, programs and monitors audio-visual equipment, related systems and accessory items in order to support the effective use of this equipment for university classes and programs.

Required Qualifications

Experience in live audio/video event support at both the operational and technical level.
Experience in audiovisual system installation.
Experience in preventative maintenance of audiovisual systems.
Experience in the use and support of Crestron control systems.
Experience in remote and hands-on customer support.
Experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux).
Must have strong communication skills.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be able to perform tasks while on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the support of instructional systems and end users in a University setting.
Experience with audio mixing for live events.
Experience with lecture capture software and hardware setup/use for classes and other live events.
Experience with web conferencing software and hardware setup/use for classes and other live events.
Experience with streaming software and hardware setup/use for classes and other live events.
Experience in the higher education audiovisual industry.
Experience with help desk ticketing systems.
Basic knowledge of network infrastructure and IP addressing.
CTS certifications from AVIXIA.
Crestron certifications.
Manufactures training and certifications.
