Assistant Panel Coordinator of Undergraduate Academic Integrity
The Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Panel Coordinator of Undergraduate Academic Integrity. This position is a fulltime 1-year restricted position, and will be an integral part of our efforts to support and promote a culture of honesty and integrity. The person in this position will report to the Coordinator for Undergraduate Academic Integrity. The person in this position will be responsible for attending panel hearings, as well as explaining university policy and procedures related to the Undergraduate Honor System. This position will also interact with students, faculty and other university stakeholders. The schedule for this position will be determined between the Coordinator for Undergraduate Academic Integrity and the successful candidate. This schedule may include time during regular business hours as well as evening hours if deemed appropriate.
The Assistant Panel Coordinator of Undergraduate Academic Integrity is a member of the Undergraduate Honor System’s staff and has primary responsibility for assisting the Coordinator for Undergraduate Academic Integrity in the panel process, in the investigation of cases, and occasionally meeting with students who are accused of academic misconduct.
Specific responsibilities of the Assistant Panel Coordinator of Undergraduate Academic Integrity include:
1. Attend undergraduate Honor System hearings and provide guidance to the panel to ensure that the process is followed.
2. Meeting with students to discuss the outcome of cases and explain the appeal process.
3. Assist with the coordination and effective implementation of honor system hearings by preparing case files, ensuring proper documentation is present in files, ensuring that individuals associated with the case receive proper documentation, interviewing students accused of academic dishonesty, clarifying policy expectations and interpretations for delegates, and others involve in cases, responding and communicating with faculty on behalf of student leaders when additional information is needed.
4. Assisting with office administrative tasks as needed
1. Bachelor’s degree with related experience equivalent with advanced degree
2. Strong written, oral, organizational, management and interpersonal skills
3. Strong customer service in an academic or professional office environment
4. Previous experience working with academic integrity
5. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and timely decision-making practices to accomplish organizational goals
6. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
Experience in higher education, particularly working with an undergraduate honor system, overseeing a hearing process, speaking with students about academic integrity, and/or hearing academic integrity cases.
The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check
