The Program in Real Estate provides students with the opportunity to major in the nationally ranked, 5th Most Popular, Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate. The B.S. degree is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary academic program that builds on existing strengths in five colleges. The major offers Real Estate courses such as finance, law, and property management along with practical experiences within the academic program. Through a university-industry partnership, real estate professionals are actively involved in students’ education through guest lectures and mentoring experiences and by providing internship opportunities.
The Program in Real Estate within the Pamplin College of Business seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant. This position will work independently with general direction from the Willis Blackwood Director and the Student Support and Program Manager and will serve as the first point of contact for the Program in Real Estate. This position will assist people both in person and by phone and will interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, to include undergraduate students, prospective students, parents, faculty/staff members, administrators, etc.
Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in a professional office environment with a how-can-i-help-you attitude.
Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
Outstanding communication skills, professional demeanor and team commitment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Higher education experience
Familiarity with Virginia Tech systems such as Banner, HokieMart, TEM
Commensurate with experience
