Job Description
Reporting to the Training and 2nd Shift Operations Manager, the 2nd Shift Facilities Housekeeping Operations Supervisor will be a working supervisor who supervises, schedules, directs and inspects the work of the 2nd shift Housekeeping Operations Team. This position will fulfill labor productivity while maintaining administrative tasks related to his or her team members. This team will include a Waste & Recycling team who canvases campus and assists with trash and recycling control in the evening hours. The team will also be comprised of a unit who assists in emergency cleanup and who will also assist the remaining of the 2nd shift team in their normal functions. The normal functions this team will include regularly scheduled housekeeping services for public areas within targeted administrative and general assignment buildings across campus. Pre and post event cleaning will also be a normal function of this team. This position will also handle specialty project work such as interim carpet maintenance, etc. Reports needed equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusual housekeeping situations. Responsible for the care and handling of housekeeping supplies, equipment, vehicle, and assigned keys
Required Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience.
Housekeeping/cleaning experience in an institutional, or commercial cleaning environment such as hospitality (hotel/motel), commercial cleaning company, manufacturing, health care facilities, etc.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning equipment.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Ability to train and supervise workers and to perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, and properly use or learn to use cleaning chemicals and agents, including dilution and dispensing systems.
Must be willing and able to learn the use of heavy floor care equipment.
Must be capable of working independently without close supervision.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory Experience at an institutional setting.
Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience.
