Position Responsibilities:

VCU Athletics is seeking a graduate assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Partnerships area during the 2024-25 academic year. Specifically, the Corporate Partnerships Graduate Assistants will work closely with all identification, outreach, ideation and fulfillment tasks associated with the partners of VCU Athletics. Tasks include prospecting, presentation preparation, post-sale activation management, event preparation including marketing set up and tear down, and day-to-day office management. Efforts will support VCU's Division I intercollegiate athletic programs and the overall VCU Athletics brand. This position will work both cooperatively and independently with the VCU Sports Properties staff, VCU Athletics administrators, coaches, and athletics department staff, as well as other University personnel and student organizations.

All duties and responsibilities will be assigned with the end goal of growing the corporate partnership portfolio for VCU Athletics, representing and promoting the VCU athletics brand and increasing revenue for the department.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Serving as department liaison with VCU Sports Properties/Learfield IMG College
* Participate in full sponsorship sales and fulfillment process
• Utilizing available research and data to develop prospect call lists
• Designing various graphics for presentations, publications and partner usage
• Assisting with various game day promotional activities
• Establishing effective on-campus partnership efforts (i.e. presence at non-athletics events) and
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Admittance into VCU Center for Sports Leadership (CSL) graduate program; and
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a graduate assistant at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of and prior work experience in intercollegiate athletics;
  • Strong customer services skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience with PowerPoint and graphic design software; and
  • Interest in marketing and/or sales.

Applicants must be admitted to VCU's Center for Sports Leadership (CSL) program to be eligible for this position.
