The Creative Technologies & Scholarship Department of Virginia Commonwealth University Libraries seeks temporary seasonal hourly workers for the summer. Assistants will provide user-oriented instruction and support for technology-based creative projects in The Workshop, located on the lower level of the James Branch Cabell Library.

Applicants should be enthusiastic about teaching and troubleshooting and should have experience with a range of multimedia and prototyping software and hardware.

Total hours will vary based on staffing availability.

Qualifications:

Should have knowledge or interest in any of the following areas:
  • Software and hardware for 3D scanning/modeling/printing
  • Graphics/Animation/Video/Audio production
  • Sewing/Textile material work
  • VR/AR/MR applications and gaming
  • Programmable electronics and maker tools
  • GIS and Web applications
Should be skilled in some combination of the following applications:
  • Adobe Suite: Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, etc.
  • Additional A/V Software: Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Dragonframe, etc.
  • 3D Software: Autodesk Suite, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Cura, Unity, ZBrush, etc.
  • And other tools such as ArcGIS, HTML/CSS, Processing/p5, etc.
Should have experience with customer service and general troubleshooting.

Salary Range: $13.75- $14
