Position Summary:

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is in search of a Laboratory Summer Research Assistant from June 1st- Aug 31st 2024. The laboratory research is focused on preclinical studies on opioid tolerance and gastrointestinal chemotoxicity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in studies on mice gastrointestinal tissues
  • Preparation of solutions, and setting up experiments in organ bath
  • Will also involve behavioral studies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Should have basic understanding of Physiology
  • Experience in wet-lab
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as undergraduate, preferably as senior
