Type of Position: Enlisted in the Naval Special Warfare community (high school diploma or equivalent required)
About this Job: After completing what is arguably the most physically and mentally demanding military training in existence, Navy SEALs are called upon to carry out some of the most highly specialized, highly classified operations in the military – on land, at sea and in the air. This includes direct action warfare, special reconnaissance, counterterrorism operations, foreign internal defense and any other immediate military options amidst crises. In this role:
- Conduct insertions and extractions by sea, air or land to accomplish covert, Special Warfare/Special Operations missions
- Capture high-value enemy personnel and terrorists around the world
- Collect information and intelligence through special reconnaissance missions
- Carry out small-unit, direct-action missions against military targets
- Perform underwater reconnaissance and the demolition of natural or man-made obstacles prior to amphibious landings

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration.
- S. citizenship: Required
- Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Gender: Male (required by law)
- Age: 28 or younger
- Medical exam: Required
- Eyesight: 20/40 best eye; 20/70 worst eye; correctable to 20/25 with no color blindness
- Physical exam for divers: Required
- Physical screening test: Required
- Minimum Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) score: GS+MC+EI=165 or VE+MK+MC+CS=220
- Training: To become a Navy SEAL, candidates must successfully complete a training process lasting well over two years – a process that is widely considered to be the most difficult and demanding of its kind
- Service commitment: Minimum of six years of Active Duty
