Job Description Summary
This position is to assist in sample organization and processing for an archaeobotanical study of prehistoric specimens from Thailand, housed at the Penn Museum. Tasks include data management of archaeobotanical soils collections, organizing specimens and moving sediment collections so that they can be further processed, adding data for samples not yet registered, and from about July 27-August 7, the assistant will work with a visiting archaeobotanist to float, sieve, and otherwise process the soil samples in preparation for further study by the senior archaeobotanist at another institution. Summer hours can be flexible except during the visit by the archaeobotanist. A minimum of 200 hours is needed to accomplish the tasks. While prior experience in archaeobotany is desirable, it is not mandatory. General archaeological experience would be beneficial, however
