Job Description

The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a Metrologist to work within the PSO group. This position will report to the Metrology Lead and will be responsible for calibration, maintenance, and repair of the equipment associated with the Production group and Quality Control group to ensure equipment is functioning for its intended purpose and qualified for GMP use. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy teamwork, and have a commitment to excellence working within a GMP environment.

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include
  • Perform calibration of equipment and instruments according to industry standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and equipment qualification protocol (EPRTs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all calibration and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain calibration schedules for all equipment and instruments while communicating and collaborating with all departments involved to minimize schedule impact.
  • Schedule vendors for onsite visits and oversee their visit to ensure quality of work and compliance to MURR's safety and GMP requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment or instrument issues while documenting all activities appropriately.
  • Participate in the ordering, installation, and initial qualification of new GMP equipment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and groups to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Contribute to the authoring, revision, and approval of GMP documentation including SOPs, change controls, and deviations.
  • Assist in training other personnel on metrology processes and procedures as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing calibration and maintenance activities.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Infrequent evening or weekend work may be required for emergencies

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a GMP environment.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $22.35 per hour

Grade: GGS-006
