Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift/push/or pull objects up to 50 pounds. Standing or walking while carrying objects up to 25 pounds may be needed. Sitting at computer stations for extended periods may be needed. Repetitive motion.

Shift

Primarily dayshifts Monday through Friday. Shifts and days of week subject to needs of pharmacy.

Job Summary

This position is located in Hindman, KY.

Seeking qualified Pharmacist to: Directly manage daily operations and has legal binding through Pharmacist-in-Charge ( PIC) licensure to ensure the unit meets departmental and organizational goals.

Participate in the routine supervision and training of Pharmacist and technical staff related to daily operations of drug distribution. Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Review and interpret prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and ensures that drug interactions are considered. Maintain inventory and records on narcotics and other forms of drugs. Pharmacist-In-Charge licensure required for legal responsibility of work unit.

IEBC (Internal Employee Being Considered).

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Must be able to solve highest level problems and is responsible for identification/implementation of change resulting from decisions. Must be able to review and recommend modification to policies and procedures in the work unit. Directly manages daily operations and has legal binding through Pharmacist-in-Charge ( PIC) licensure to ensure the unit meets departmental and organizational goals. Participates in the routine supervision and training of Pharmacist and technical staff. Must maintain all specifications set forth by the KY Board of Pharmacy and/or Federal laws regarding duties of a PIC.

Preferred Education/Experience

PharmD + 1 year of Pharmacy Management experience. Previous ambulatory/retail management experience or equivalent preferred.
