Job Summary
The College of Nursing seeks outstanding applicants for Undergraduate advising as it is a part of the learning mission of the University. This position will be responsible for academic advising for about 250 BSN students. These duties include, but are not limited to priority registration advising, following-up on probationary students, mid-term grade evaluation, coordinating with Nursing faculty and students during the semester and in follow-up, and facilitating appeals for students who face dismissal from the program.
Advisors will present the curriculum required for each part of a degree as well as fully explain the rationale of the courses and assist students in integrating the degree requirements as one part of a student's overall career plan. This position provides firm information about degree programs within the College so that students are equipped to make more informed decisions as they begin as first-year, transfer or exploratory and move through each year of study. Provide all exploratory students options within the College and outside the College by recommending key resources and individually guiding these students within the decision making process. Undergraduate advising is one key component within our collaborative and vast amount of resources all working towards student success including learning, retention and graduation.

The qualified candidates will demonstrate or have proven the ability to: work independently and seek help when necessary; have good judgement; use excellent verbal and written skills; effectively manage time for successful completion of projects/meeting deadlines; adapt as necessary in the unpredictable environment of student life. And our number 1 priority is to provide excellent customer service.
