ITS Data Entry Specialist
- General Definition of Work
Performs data analysis, auditing and reporting duties. Work is performed under the supervision of the Transit Lead Data Analyst.

Essential Functions
Assists with developing, maintaining and updating data collection protocols, system documentation, and training materials for all databases.
Produces reports on ridership, service level, and other related reports, with an emphasis on reports for the FTA's NTD, DRPT, and crucial stakeholders.
Documents, tests, diagnoses, and mitigates basic issues in databases.
Assists with the research, procurement, testing and implementation of data collection and reporting systems.
Attends all required weekly/monthly staff meetings and other meetings when assigned.

Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Possess a demonstrated ability to plan and schedule the assigned work. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public transit operations.
Possess a strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite; Possess a general knowledge of a wide variety of hardware and software associated with Information Technology or Intelligent Transportation Systems. General knowledge of data and telecommunications protocols and industry standards, such as those for the Internet, intranet, security and data networks;; general knowledge of computer software applicable to public transit; ability to operate motor vehicles safely and efficiently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, contractors, and the general public.
Education and Experience
Associates degree and experience working in a public transit system; experience in, information technology and\or Intelligent Transit Systems, data entry, data analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting, reaching with hands and arms and lifting and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, tasting or smelling and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles and exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
