Children's Camp Assistant P/T
- General Definition of Work
This position will be under the direct supervision of parks and recreation of two instructor and will be responsible for motivating and assisting campers in wide array of activities. Including, but not limited to arts and crafts, games, sports (T-Ball. Soccer) music and water play.
- Essential Functions
Works closely with camp instructors in implementing daily activities for campers.
Supervision and safety of children at all times.
Assists in setup/take down of daily activities, and stores supplies/equipment in an organized manner.
Interacts with campers and assists them in projects.
Communicates effectively with parents on the status of their child, and any problems that occur during camp.
Maintain control and handles any discipline matters that may arise and reports them to the parks and recreation instructors.
Tools/ Equipment Used:
Recreation type supplies, balls, bats, inflatable play items, craft supplies, etc.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience working with children in a supervised setting. Must be 18 years old and have a high school or GED diploma. Completion of CPR, Standard First Aid, AEP courses, or have the ability to obtain training and any other training scheduled by the department as required.
Days and Hours of Work
Shifts will be assigned Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
- Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to humid and hot conditions of a classroom, gym, or outdoor weather. The work environment is frequently noisy due to working with small children.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to used walk, talk, see, hear, write and throw. The employee also is required to use hands and arms to write throw, reach and catch.
The employee will frequently be required to assist in lifting and or moving items which can weigh up to 50 pounds.
