OPPORTUNITY
The Sussex Conservation District seeks an enthusiastic and passionate team player to fill a vacant Agricultural Conservation Planner position to engage with farmers and landowners on addressing natural resource concerns to improve water quality and soil health for the future of Sussex County. If you want to work in a dynamic, family friendly, fast paced environment, then SCD is the place for you. Must be proficient with computers, including MS Word, Excel, databases, and ArcGIS a plus. Ability to work one-on-one with agricultural producers providing technical assistance and recommendations on natural resource conservation issues. Field work required. BS in agriculture, environmental science, or natural resources preferred. A DE Nutrient Management Certification must be obtained as a condition of employment within one year.
Salary range is $45,000-$48,000 commensurate of experience along with an excellent benefits package including a pension plan, 11 paid holidays, health, dental, and vision insurance, company vehicle, and $1,500 increase upon attaining nutrient management consultant certification.
