Job Description:

The State University of New York at Old Westbury is seeking applicants for the position of Development Database Specialist. This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement. The Development Database Specialist is the college's primary fundraising database and prospect research position.
Responsibilities include:
- Function as primary database administrator and manage all aspects of the Raiser's Edge including, but not limited to, gift processing, data entry, creating queries, reports and dashboards, as well as list management.
- Coordinate the timely preparation, submission and recording of all acknowledgment letters and gift receipts.
- Provide support to staff with analytical, statistical and financial reports and donor data for fundraising planning and prospect management.
- Coordinate and execute all online communications using Blackbaud's systems as required.
- Maintain the integrity of the database, including performing systematic cleanup, imports/exports, global updates, attributes and code table management, as well as routine Blackbaud maintenance when needed.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of events including all aspects of registration management.
- Maintain and make recommendations for policies and procedures to ensure data consistency.
- Serve as primary liaison to the Business Office for gift processing, recording and reconciliation, as well as liaise with Information Technology Services and the Communications Offices for management of department's online presence.
- Communicate with Blackbaud regarding upgrades to database, troubleshooting and scheduling staff training sessions.
- Assist with conducting prospect research on current and prospective donors using print and electronic sources, as well as in-house resources.
- Assist with the preparation of biographical profiles and research reports, as well as analysis, research and prospect data to assist with the development of fundraising strategies.
- Stay current with new resources and technologies relevant to prospect research.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of full-time related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated experience with database systems (i.e., Microsoft Access, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
- Demonstrated experience in database management.
- Strong business writing and editing skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential sensitive information.
- Ability to follow and promote ethical guidelines for the collection and use of information.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct prospect research and use various prospect research tools.
