Communication and Marketing Coordinator
The School of Plant and Environmental Sciences (School) at Virginia Tech is seeking to hire full-time person to develop, execute, evaluate comprehensive communications and marketing program and strategies in support of the School's vision and strategic direction. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the School's website, internal television monitors, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.), updating and enhancing material routinely, overseeing the management, organization and structure of the School's public content across all media, and advancing the School's presence through a multimedia effort. The incumbent will independently write and edit content, meet coordination and production deadlines, and lead development of a quarterly magazine highlighting ongoing and new School activities. The incumbent will ensure compliance with university brand standards and work closely with department's faculty to collect data and information for electronic and print materials. Responsible for arranging, taking photos and videography. Work collaboratively with colleagues from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, VT News, and University Relations to enhance reputation of and building support for the School's programs.

Required Qualifications: experience in communications, marketing or related field, experience designing social media campaigns, writing professionally, photography and building websites, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Preferred Qualifications: degree in Communications and/or Marketing, experience with marketing approaches using digital and print media.
