Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Associate I.
Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, provides administrative departmental support in the performance of specialized Human Resources administrative clerical duties to include processing a variety of HR related documents; report generation; preparing correspondence; and providing exceptional customer service and support to internal and external customers relating to human resources practices and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and three years clerical experience, one of which must have involved the application of human resources policies and procedures. Human Resource Information System experience required.
Working knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures and general knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures to include of business spelling, grammar and punctuation, of modern office practices, procedures systems and equipment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) as well as internet, email and calendar software. Ability to understand and interpret human resources policies and procedures; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure; to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact; to work independently and as part of a team; to plan, organize, prioritize and execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints with general instructions; to perform mathematical computations; and to operate standard office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft experience preferred.
The position is a full-time, non-exempt State position with full benefits. Starting pay will be $18.81 per hour which is approximately $39,232.00 annually with a 2.5% increase after a satisfactory six-month probationary period for new hires and internal promotions.
