Rockbridge Area Community Service seeks applicants for:

LPN Nurse Case Manager or Certified Medical Assistant
(Full-time Position)

General: The LPN or CMA will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support for the Psychiatric Services Unit at Rockbridge Area Community Services.

Duties: The LPN or CMA will complete tasks in a timely manner and will possess an organizational skill set to ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Under general supervision, the LPN or CMA will work with members of the psychiatric services team providing assistance to clients with direct and indirect patient care, including but not limited to monitoring medication compliance, assess client need for medication assistance, assist in general office duties, obtain and document medical history and vital signs, administer injections, complete prior authorizations for medications, assist with medication refills, monitor Clozaril lab results and document in Clozapine REMS, assist with in-house and outside referrals, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: LPN must possess at entry level a Virginia License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and CMA must possess a certificate or diploma as a Certified Medical Assistant. LPN/CMA must have 2 years nursing experience; previous psychiatric nursing experience is preferred. Knowledge, skills & abilities for the position, include, but are not limited to: strong computer skills a must; psychiatric nursing best practices for adults and children/adolescents; licensure and third party payor requirements for clinical casework documentation; skilled in administering injections, obtaining vital signs, accurate and timely documentation, psychiatric nursing assessment and planning; written, oral, and interpersonal communication; organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality, work under minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment and work effectively with co-workers, clients and staff in other community services and healthcare agencies.
