Athletics Scorekeeper
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine recreational service work keeping official scorebook(s) and/or operates scoreboard for various sports including football and basketball. Performs related work as required.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Keeps official scorebook with all relevant information and statistics
- Keeps scoreboard updated with all relevant information
- Provides completed game report at the conclusion of each game
- REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education
Preferred: Completion of 10th grade secondary school
Experience
Preferred: Previous experience in sports scorekeeping
Certifications/Licenses
Required: Valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of sport rules and timing practices of football and basketball.
Ability to operate electronic scoreboard with limited training and oversight.
Ability to effectively communicate with game officials, coaches, players and other staff.
Additional Requirements
Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results. Must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description. Must have a valid driver's license and able to work various weekday evenings from 6:00-10:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am-10:00pm, and Sundays 1:00-10:00pm with schedule negotiated with Athletics Staff.
