Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Richfield Living is seeking Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our outpatient, skilled nursing and assisted living centers in Salem, VA. The SLP is responsible for organizing and providing resident centered speech-language services to facilitate rehabilitation. This position reports to the Director of Rehab.

The SLP develops and implements resident centered, individualized therapy program designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Facilitate the learning of those skills and functions essential for communication and swallowing to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. Directs activities to promote and maintain health, within the scope of practice and consistent with the Code of Ethics of the profession. Identify need for and make referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the resident. As necessary or applicable, supervises CFY provisional licensees, students, and support team members in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
Qualifications:

- Requires valid Virginia PT license and certification with ability to practice per Virginia guidelines.
- Must possess a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate; verbal and written.
- Ability to observe and communicate changes of medical conditions to the nursing team
- Passion to care for our residents
- Experience working within a healthcare community desired
- Experience with Elopement and Emergency Procedures desired
