DIRECTOR OF NURSING

Richfield Living is accepting applications for a Director Of Nursing for The Joseph Thomas Center Assisted Living. This is a FT/Exempt team member position. Typical schedule: Monday-Friday; between 8am and 5:30pm. Ability to work weekend/evening/night shift hours to meet staff training needs required. On-call for nursing management required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Champion resident-centered care and lead best practice initiatives
- Plan, organize, and oversee the day-to-day nursing operations of the facility to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and standards.
- Interview, hire, supervise, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees. Develop and monitor performance and responsibilities of assigned staff. Assist with staffing/scheduling to ensure the resident needs are met.
- Conduct and/or delegate the assessment and reassessment of resident needs; provide oversight of care planning and be involved in care plan meetings as indicated.
- Use and adapt to new technologies, including tools, equipment, methods of application, computerized systems and processes, etc.
- Collaborate in the area of quality assurance, process improvement and infection control to ensure high quality of care is delivered to residents and families.
- Maintain ongoing and effective communication with residents, responsible parties, physicians and others as appropriate.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) preferred, may consider Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in the field; assisted living & memory care preferred
- Must have a compassion and desire to work with seniors
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a related healthcare setting
- UAI/ISP certification preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and having good organizational skill
