Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a Prior Authorization Supervisor for our outstanding Prior Authorization team.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of highly dedicated medical professionals and staff whose primary mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care to our patients. 

 

In addition to performing prior authorization duties, this individual will also provide leadership, training, and guidance to our Prior Authorization team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise staff and the prior authorization operations for the organization. 
  • Hiring and training of new registration staff.
  • Plans, organizes, maintains, and supervises the processes and operations of prior authorization services for PCI including but not limited to: planning, implementing, administering, and evaluating projects and services impacting the patient's access to PCI services from a prior authorization perspective.
  • Ensures compliance with protocols and requirements established internally and by external organizations. 
  • Establishes protocols and regulatory guidelines established by government and commercial payers. 
  • Works with the teams and team leads to design and maintain the proper training tools including, but not limited to, work instructions, forms, workflow, training competency records, reference manuals, payer websites links and password security. 
  • Monitors compliance with government regulations; ensures that standards are adhered to with regard to prior authorization, HRSA and other regulatory factors that impact patient privacy guidelines (HIPAA). 
  • Conducts monthly department staff meetings and educational events.
  • Developing and maintaining prior authorization training material.
  • Working as a liaison between the business office and the departments.

 

Requirements:

  • Applicants should possess strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills as well as demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times. 
  • The qualified individual must be a self-starter, patient focused, maintain patient confidentiality and work well with team members. 
  • Must also have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems. 
  • Experience with eClinical Works is a plus. 
  • Leading candidates will have prior authorization, or similar, and supervisory experience.
